Dein Messer is the german part of a forthcoming EP where lyrics with the same content will be performed in different languages in different songs. Enjoy the song in headphones to experience the binaural effects.
Was machst du? Was machst du mit deinem Messer? Was machst du?
Einhundertachtzig Tage Leiden.
Din kniv is the Swedish version of a song which is part of an upcoming EP where the same lyrics will be translated to different languages and become different songs.
84 stygn, 180 dygn. För att du stack in den i mig.
Vill du sticka in den? Sticka in den i mig? Måste du sticka in den i MIG?
Song created in Reason Recon (the development testing environment for Reason). All synthesizer sounds comes from the self developed TZ1X, processed through Reason effects.
Frequency Modulation and Phase Modulation have been proven mathematically to be the same thing when it comes to sound synthesis. There is one important difference though; the explanation of Frequency Modulation contains several integrals, while the explanation of Phase Modulation makes perfect sense.
In May 2020, I missed my Yamaha TX81Z to such a large extent that I even considered connecting it as an external MIDI device in Reason. I felt that the amount of work (about 5 minutes) for this was overwhelming and started to search for Reason Rack Extension clones of the synth instead. One was promising, but lacked som details, so I decided to program my own rack extension. It started to sound really good a year later and now, another six months later, it’s pretty free from bugs. The synth is most famous for the bass sound C15 Lately Bass, which was used in several dance classics from the 90:s. What is hate? is a parody of one of these. To sing with two vocal cords feels a bit done, so I try to avoid it.
Several TZ1X original presets are used: Lately bass, Heavy metal, Funky pick, Dynomite EP. There is also a rolling sound. These sounds are presented after the song. Reason stood for drums, strings, reverb and delay
What is hate? Baby, don’t kiss me Don’t hug me Again
Baby, just hurt me, convert me in pain What is hate? Yeah
No, I don’t know why you should care I give you my hate, when you’re not there So what is left is just wrong. Gimme your middle finger
What is hate? Oh baby, don’t hug me Please judge me Again
What is hate? Oh baby, just hurt me avert me Again
Whoa, whoa, oh Whoa, whoa, oh
I think I know, what I should do Just write it down, then it’s up to you I know we’re two, just me and you I can go on
What is hate? Oh baby, just hurt me Avert me Again
What is hate? Oh baby, don’t hug me Don’t kiss me Again
Whoa, whoa, oh Whoa, whoa, oh
What is hate? What is hate? What is hate? Oh baby, convert me pervert me Again
Don’t hug me Don’t snuggle with me
I want to bother, your violent brother This is his knife, his time When we are together, he’ll beat me forever Is it hate?
What is hate? Oh baby, please hurt me Convert me in pain
What is hate? Oh baby, don’t hug me Don’t kiss me again Yeah, yeah
Whoa, whoa, oh Whoa, whoa, oh
What is hate? Oh baby, please hurt me Torment me Again
What is hate? Oh baby, don’t hug me Don’t kiss me Ever again
Oh baby, just hurt me Please hurt me like before
Oh baby, just hurt me Please hurt me More and more What is hate?
It started as a rolling bass line and a traditional drum pattern. As a placeholder name the song was named Såga ner en tuja (sawing down a thuja), which then was transformed to four less traditional drum patterns. Some of the drums were replaced and the original bass line was removed.
A bunch of composers have taken the lyrics for the catholic death mass and created master pieces. This is Johan Jernstedt’s Requiem, also featuring Anna Lena and Alexandra (classic version).
(Parts of the traditional Roman Catholic Requiem)
Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine;
et lux perpetua luceat eis.
Te decet hymnus, Deus, in Sion,
et tibi reddetur votum in Ierusalem.
Exaudi orationem meam;
ad te omnis caro veniet.
Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine;
et lux perpetuam luceat eis. Domine!
Dies irae, dies illa
solvet saeclum in favilla,
teste David cum Sibylla.
Quantus tremor est futurus,
quando iudex est venturus,
cuncta stricte discussurus?
Tuba mirum spargens sonum,
per sepulchra regionum,
coget omnes ante thronum.
Mors stupebit et natura,
cum resurget creatura,
iudicanti responsura.
Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine;
et lux perpetuam luceat eis. Domine!
Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi:
dona eis requiem.
Agnus Dei,
dona eis requiem sempiternam.
Lux aeterna luceat eis, Domine, cum sanctis
tuis in aeternam: quia pius es.
Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine;
et lux perpetua luceat eis. Domine!
My dreams are not really nightmares,
but they are
uncomfortable.
I keep running out of time,
not getting in time to
appointments or quite often
the toilet.
Another recurring dream
is that I have forgotten to take my pills.
